Suspect Arrested, Another Sought in December Shooting at 8118 Martin Luther King Boulevard
Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 8118 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 6:55 p.m. on December 20, 2024.
The suspect is described only as an unknown black male, 30 to 40 years of age, with a thin build and a low haircut. According to the Houston Police Department, he is known to ride a bicycle in the area. Houston Police released the Surveillance photos of the male a few days after the shooting.
The victim, 40, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults Division Detective M. Bellahna reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at a convenience store at the above address and found the victim lying on the sidewalk. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim got into an altercation with unknown suspects. The incident escalated to a physical fight and, at some point, one of the suspects shot the victim. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving.
Additional investigation identified one of the suspects as White and he was arrested on December 31 on an unrelated charge. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and White was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. The suspect in the photos (shooter) remains at large.
