GGISD Evening of Excellence Gala Celebrates Education

The Goose Creek CISD Education Foundation hosted its highly anticipated Evening of Excellence Gala on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston. The event brought together educators, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate excellence in education and honour those who significantly impact Goose Creek CISD. Attendees enjoyed a night filled with inspiration, celebration, and entertainment, including a program, silent and live auctions, dinner, and a lively performance by the band Bag of Donuts.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of the district’s Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, both recipients of the foundation’s Innovative Teaching Grants, and the presentation of the inaugural Roger Elswick Legacy Award to its namesake. Gilbert Santana hosted the event, and guests heard from Superintendent Dr. Randal O’Brien, Foundation Board President Adelina Gomez Abshire, and Education Foundation Director Dr. Anna Espinoza. Proceeds from the event will help fund the foundation’s impactful programs, including the Innovative Teaching Grants that enrich classrooms, celebrate students’ and teachers’ achievements, and foster excellence in learning across the district.
