Apartment Fire in The Spring Branch West Area
Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1251 Sherwood Forest Street, on April 3, 2025, at 11:41 a.m. to find smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment building.
Crews used a thermal imaging camera to locate the fire in the kitchen of a smoke-filled apartment unit. A primary search was conducted with no one found.
Firefighters pulled the ceiling and sheetrock from the walls to check for extension, but no extension was noted, and the fire was extinguished.
Fans were used to ventilate the smoke from the apartments.
CenterPoint arrived on the scene and turned the power off to the building.
A firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine appears to be accidental.
