City Council approved authorizing a Water Tower Lease Agreement between the City of Baytown and Cellco Partnership (doing business as Verizon Wireless)
On Thursday, the City Council approved the proposed ordinance authorizes a Water Tower Lease Agreement with Cellco Partnership (doing business as Verizon Wireless) for the lease of space on a City water tower located at 2822 Grand S. Parkway, Baytown, Chambers County, for the installation, maintenance, and operation of communications equipment. The proposed lease agreement outlines the terms and conditions under which Verizon Wireless will lease space on the water tower and land for their equipment building. The agreement includes an initial term of five years with automatic extensions, rental payments, and provisions to access the property accompanied by City of Baytown staff.
The lease includes a rental fee of $16,800 annually, to be paid in equal monthly installments of $1,400 beginning ninety (90) days after the Commencement Date. In addition, rental payments will increase 2% annually. This lease will allow Verzion Wireless to expand its communications infrastructure in the area, benefiting the community through improved service.
