City Council authorized the purchase of fencing services for the Mosquito Control Building from Foster Fence, LTD, thorough the Buyboard Cooperative Purchase Program

On Thursday, the City Council authorized the purchase of fencing services for the Mosquito Control Building from Foster Fence, LTD, thorough the Buyboard Cooperative Purchase Program.

This proposed ordinance authorizes the purchase of fencing services for the Mosquito Control building from Foster Fence, LTD, in the amount of $79,924.00, through the Buyboard Cooperative Purchase Program contract #757-24.  
The fence at the Mosquito Control building is being replaced due to damage from Hurricane Beryl that occurred in July 2024.

Foster Fence will provide the following:
Remove and haul off 664 feet of existing chain link fence with windscreen. 
Install 594 feet of 8-foot-high galvanized chain link fence with green PVC slats and three (3) strands of barbed wire. 4″ Line post on 8-foot On Center.
Install one (1) 4-foot wide single swing gate. 4” Schedule 40 gate post.
Install one (1) 16-foot wide double swing gate. 4” Scheduled 40 gate post.
Install one (1) 30-foot wide double swing gate. 6 5/8” Schedule 40 gate post.
Install one (1) 20-foot cantilever slide gate. 4” Schedule 40 gate post.  Reconnect the operator chain to the new gate.
Includes Windload design Professional Engineer Stamped drawing for City Permit.

Foster Fence, LTD is an approved contractor through the Buyboard Co-Op Program. The City of Baytown is a member of the same, and can access contracts with the supplying companies. The cooperative agreement has already been competitively bid, through which the city is receiving the deepest discounts.
