Dr Elfallal Indicited for Aggravated Assault of a Patient
On January 9, 2025, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Samer Elfallal, D.O. (Lic. No. R9605), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that on December 28, 2022, Dr. Elfallal negligently overdosed one patient with a toxic injection of lidocaine resulting in a seizure, near cardiac arrest, immediate admittance into ICU, and neurological deficits. On December 10, 2024, Dr. Elfallal was indicted in Harris County for aggravated assault for intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly causing bodily harm to the patient via the improper administration of lidocaine.
A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days’ notice to Dr. Elfallal, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Elfallal.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
