Investigation into Fatal Crash at 22400 Eastex Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 22400 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 5:55 p.m. on Saturday (April 5).

The identity of the deceased male, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer T. La reported:

The male was driving a black Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed northbound on the freeway at the above address when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree in the median between the northbound and southbound lanes.  Paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene. 

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
