Person found dead at bus stop died due to cold weather

HOUSTON — The METRO Police Department said a person found dead at a bus stop Monday morning died due to the cold weather.

It happened at a bus stop on North Cesar Chavez Boulevard near Canal Street in Houston’s East End.

The death comes after temperatures in the Houston area dipped below freezing overnight.

The person’s identity is unknown at this time and the medical examiner’s office has not released autopsy results. The incident is under investigation by METRO police.
